Academia in Motion is increasingly moving from ambition to implementation. Across the university, the focus is shifting towards embedding broader recognition of quality into policies, procedures and everyday academic practice. Recent developments include:
- Peer review of faculty career policies
The first peer reviews are helping faculties translate AiM principles into clearer career profiles, transparent procedures and more diverse career pathways. - Quality matrices in development
The research and teaching quality matrices are being refined as practical conversation tools that help recognise a broader range of academic contributions, including collaboration, leadership, societal impact and Open Science. - Embedding AiM in everyday practice
AiM principles are increasingly being integrated into existing processes, such as GROW conversations, SEP, recruitment, appointments and promotion procedures. - Supporting implementation
The coming months will focus on finalising the matrices, further developing faculty career policies and creating practical tools and formats for supervisors, committees and teams.

| Make and use Open Educational Resources (OER) |
Open Educational Resources (OER) are freely accessible learning materials that can be reused, adapted and shared. Creating and using OER contributes to accessible education and can also be recognized as a valuable academic contribution.
The LUMC Open Science and Recognition & Rewards programmes have developed an OER flyer explaining the what, why and how of OER. The flyer offers practical guidance for getting started. View the OER flyer. |
